Dental Surgeons

All our dentists work part-time hours to balance work and family life.

Principal Dental Surgeon (GDC – 62578)

Dr. Sarah Hodgson

Sarah is our Practice Owner and Principal Dentist. She has 35 years’ experience in family, general cosmetic dentistry, and more than two decades’ experience in dental implantology and maxillofacial surgery.

She has a special interest in aesthetic restorative dentistry, including provision of aesthetic veneers, crowns and bridges.

Sarah qualified from Manchester University in 1987. Before moving into general practice and setting up Greenwood Dental Practice in 2000, she worked at St Thomas’ Hospital in London and Withington Hospital in Manchester as a junior grade Maxillofacial Surgeon. She also worked as a Locum Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon at Trafford General Hospital.

Away from the practice, Sarah loves to spend her free time with her two children and take their dogs for long walks. She’s also a keen gardener.

Dental Surgeon (GDC – 69603)

Dr. Sarah Ford

Sarah is an accredited Invisalign® Orthodontic provider and enjoys providing cosmetic dentistry to patients, particularly composite veneers and smile improvement treatments. Sarah completed the Tipton Restorative course in 2007.

After qualifying as a dentist from Leeds University in 1993, Sarah completed her vocational training in Hull. Her career took her to private practices in New Zealand and Australia before returning to Manchester in 2002. She has been part of our team since 2012.

Away from work Sarah loves walking and mountain biking with her family, visiting the Lake District and Peak District regularly. She also enjoys taking in live music and comedy gigs.

Dental Surgeon (GDC – 252631)

Dr. Julia Williamson

Julia is qualified in aesthetic restorative dentistry, including provision of aesthetic veneers, crowns and bridges. She is a qualified Invisalign® provider, offering teeth straightening for patients wishing to improve their smiles. She also has advanced training in administering Botox to relax muscles and prevent excessive clenching and grinding of teeth.

Julia qualified from Manchester University in 2014 and completed her vocational training in Newcastle before returning to live and work in Manchester. She has a post graduate diploma in Endodontics (root canal treatment) and has been working at Greenwood Dental Practice since 2018.

In her spare time Julia enjoys yoga, spinning classes and eating out.

Dental Surgeon (GDC – 103198)

Dr. Anneliese Pantin

Anneliese loves all aspects of dentistry but particularly enjoys family dentistry and has a special interest in treating children. She is also involved in dental education and has previously worked as a dental appraiser.

Anneliese qualified from the University of Manchester in 2006 and completed her vocational training in Irlam, where she worked for a further two years. In 2009, she moved to a practice in Bolton before joining Greenwood Dental Practice in 2023.

When she’s not at work Anneliese loves keeping up with her large extended family and exploring the great outdoors with her husband and their four young children. Together they enjoy holiday adventures and trips to National Trust properties.

Dental Surgeon (GDC – 265375)

Dr. Thomas Owen

Thomas graduated from The University of Sheffield with Honours before spending a year working as a Senior House Officer (SHO) in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at Aintree and Arrowe Park hospitals. As an SHO, Thomas developed advanced skills in oral surgery and tooth extractions, earning the award of Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons Glasgow.

Thomas has worked full time as a private general dentist for several years, but has a special interest in oral surgery including complex tooth extractions and dental implants. Thomas now limits his practice to these procedures and spends his time visiting practices in Greater Manchester and Cheshire to remove difficult teeth referred by other dentists and place dental implants. His latest achievement is the completion of a master’s degree in dental implantology.

Aside from oral surgery, Thomas is an experienced cosmetic dentist with a passion for integrating rehabilitation and aesthetics in patients with complex needs. Thomas’s calm and professional manner will shine through and enhance your dental experience. Thomas prides himself on communicating every aspect of patient care clearly to ensure that you feel in control.

Outside of dentistry, Thomas loves food, live music, cycling, running and the gym.
